would recommend, it is a bit out of the way but getting a tuktuk is no trouble. they wait out the front, taxis are available too. the food is lovely if a little pricey, but very convienient. the bar is also great if not a bit pricey too. the rooms are very clean and the a/c works brilliantly as well as the wifi.

    Great view

The View from our room is fantastic, it overlooks the pool, but if you look further you can see the River. The decour is fantastic, the whole place has a nautical theme (was very interesting seeing a 20something wearing a sailor uniform who was just a conceriege).
Another downer for this place, was our room instead of a double sized bed, actually has 2 singles push together. Which is basically the same thing, but it will make snuggling hard.
I am very happy with the selection of teas, so it's alright.

    Mitchell's thoughts on SL
Sri Lanka is a very different place to New Zealand with all of the people around here being so friendly. Everyone wants to say hi and ask what we are doing. There are so many things to look at while traveling around from snakes to elephants. When you are driving along the road you can see motorbikes and tuk tuks flying …

    Liam's thoughts on SL
Sri Lanka is like nowhere else I've ever heard of. There are few similarities to New Zealand, the way things run over here is quite messy and slightly crazy. I've learnt a lot as a person from the tour so far. It's a very big culture shock and a big wake up call to all of us. SL makes us appreciate what we have at home, …

    Mahiyangana and the Forest Dwellers

We travel east from Kandy today, over a mountain range, to Mahiyangana to spend some time with the Vedda people who have descended from the island's original Neolithic community. We get to meet the village chief and ask about their way of life. Then we hike into the forest where village members scale a tree and begin extracting honeycomb from wild …

The path to Enlightment is rarely without obstacles, and ours comes in the form of terrible traffic jams whenever we are within 10 miles of a city. Our object today is the World Heritage Dambulla Rock Cave Temples with frescoes more than 2,000 years old. It is a serene and surreal atmosphere with further traffic jams of humans to enable us to …
