Maybe something to do with the first one we entered being 80-100 degrees. The ruin bars in downtown Budapest were also great fun - essentially they are bars in previously abandoned buildings, usually covered in street art and various installations. Our final day, yesterday, we spent in Szentendre, a small artist commune about a ...

... I walk through the main square on the way to my hostel and observe a lovely fountain on the main pedestrian way.

Planning to return one day to spend more time with family I will have to come back here.

I avoided museums as usual, which turned out to be a good thing as apparently the art galleries here aren't that good. Since the town is mostly a student town there are lots of cafes and drinking holes, but not many designed to entertain tourists. There was one place that caught my eye, which was a small museum about the Romanian Revolution in Timisoara in 1989. By the time I found it I was dead on my feet and knew I wouldn't ...

    ... was key.

I'm currently in Timisoara, a rather pretty town not too far from the Serbian-Romanian border. We took an early train from Belgrade to Vrsac, then another from Vrsac to here. The five hour journey cost seven euro. That's kind of ridiculous, though no more ridiculous than the 90 euro cent gourmet pancakes we had during the layover. Again, I kind of feel guilty for spending so little.

    Timisoara is a nice ...
