Survived a wild ride down the bay. Some of the roughest conditions we have experienced on the Chesapeake. Big waves. 30+ kt winds and lots of driving rain. Enjoyed our new cockpit enclosures as well as the heater we installed below. The AIS system which allowed us to identify ships during the night was a big help.

Navy ships don't use AIS so we slowed to enter Hampton Roads after sunrise. Still, with heavy ...

An interesting sight as the bridge stops at a man made island in the middle of the bay where it becomes a tunnel for a while, then the bidge starts again & continues to the other side!

... was no sign of it in the cars, the bar..nothing. But what could I do... We carried on our day. Dipan made us an adorable breakfast. He made us pancakes and actually squeezed oranged to make juice! He's such a sweetheart. We spent the rest of the day napping, going to Kristina's pool, Chipotle, Ice cream (Dipan was my sugar daddy since my wallet was lost ;). We went back to Dipans to clean up for dinner, later at Outback by the river. We moved the clothes by where I ...

Stayed at Tall Pines RV Resort at Lewes, Delaware for the night, then drove on to Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. After a nice walk and a look around we drove on to Ocean City, Maryland. Stopped to grab some souvenirs. Even though lots of businesses are closed for the season at these beachside towns, the weather is being kind to us. It is getting much warmer as we ...

... br> We accomplished our non-stop passage plan, arriving at Willoughby Bay, Norfolk, VA on May 19 at 1205, and dropping anchor just outside Willoughby Harbor Marina. Distance of the passage was 660nm over 4 days, 4 hours, 15 minutes for an average speed of 6.6 kts. Pretty typical for our offshore passages.

Arriving in Norfolk, our plan had been to take Jim ashore in the dinghy to his ...
