          Nanshan Temple and Canal Trip

A travel blog entry by caroline63 on Nov 01, 2015

We went back to Casa Zoe's for breakfast after moving from the Kempinski Hotel back to the Gran Park Hotel for work tomorrow. We then went to visit the Nanshan Temple, and walked around a market area, a bit like Confucius Temple area in Nanjing with small shops and stalls.

We then took a lovely boat trip down the Grand Canal (which we have been on in Hangzhou also), stopping off at a hand-made brick museum. Another lovely day.

We were treated like celebrities and all the kids wanted a photo with us! I tried a game with a hoop where you have to guide the hoop along with a metal stick that is curved at the ...

After the bumpy flight from Sydney to ChangZhou, we landed to 35 degrees, humidity level, don't laugh - I have taken off my leggings and wearing my flats without sockets - fashion plus!!! Not so luxurious surroundings here - Qantas does not have a code share lounge. We are sitting in Yeasun Coffee House. With very expensive coffee and dodgy ...

... class was Geography, where the teacher went over all of the main festivals celebrated in China. Although the students enjoyed this, the real joy was having the opportunity to exchange thoughts and ideas with the Chinese students. Both groups were eager to get to know each other. That was definitely a highlight for me today. Despite the cultural and language differences, the students were willing to take a risk and try ...
