There were boxes of postcards that a father had sent to his son - his son only found out after the war that the postcards stopped because his father had been killed. I saw photographs of a nine month pregnant woman's body lying in a pile ...
... same street, when I was stopped by a few plain-clothed soldiers with their guns. They simply wanted me to say "I love Jerusalem" on camera in whatever foreign languages I knew. I happily complied.
