Sorry for the break from routine of our daily blogs. Our time spent in Pforzheim is very relaxing and we are enjoying the opportunity not to be travelling so much. We spend time planning the next phase of our trip, sorting bank details and shopping. Marianne is a wonderful cook and we have been spoilt with yummy home-cooked meals. Walter has ordered spare parts for his car and Gisela has made a few clothing purchases. We have been invited to stay at a ...

... I learned those huge ass churches' names and that they are your typical touristic sights. I have no idea which Kreis is which and I haven't even been up the Ütliberg. Ok, obviously I haven't been sightseeing...but you have to understand, I've been busy soaking up its nightlife and most especially, its language. Züridüutsch isch eifach schööön.

It's no fairytale being here, though. Coming ...

... the city from its highest point, a natural hill that is bizarrely steep in the middle of a fairly flat city. Later in the evening, post dinner, the drizzle lifted and with it so did our spirits. The cobbled streets of the old town filled with locals and tourists again, and we came across some of the universiy grounds. Firstly the most imposing library ...
