An early start this morning and as usual we got an earlier train , which was boarding in 5 mins, so we arrived in Dover before we had left France.
The worst thing that struck us was the awful state of the English roads. The concrete M20 is diabolical. What on earth foreign visitors must think - its an awful welcome to the country.
The Spanish road system is superb and the French roads were all open in snow and ice.

Apart from ourselves we have seen some decidedly odd things. For instance a "tutti pole" - a small flower stick topped with an orange used in a festival peculiar to Hungerford , where we stopped for a coffee. The tutti pole used to be used to collect tithes or taxes but now the charge for the donation of an orange from the tutti man is a penny or a kiss,. don't ask me why! I can't say enough about this gorgeous place and it was a stunning day we had for travel too so we were really lucky. I loved, loved, loved Lulworth and I would love to go back again. It was just a perfect setting.
