    ... so Drew and I parted ways after check in. The staff all spoke English - so this was easy.

    The shower though. The shower was pure heaven. Easily on my list of top ten showers I've ever had. Shampoo and soap was provided. But oh god. The water was so hot and the pressure so perfect.

    The capsule itself was pretty roomy. It's unfortunately not sound proof - but I got a pretty solid nights sleep.

    It's very hard to wake up at 4:15am for anything, unless you've got very good reason. I need a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow to coax me out of bed anytime before 7:30, and thankfully on this occasion I had something worth waking for.

    ... late in the year, the fields very dry but very soft underfoot. I moved forward until I found a little space to myself and sat down to watch the spectacle that had been running for the past 20 minutes. I've seen a few pyrotechnic shows so I'm familiar with the technique of 'episodes' of escalating intensity and pauses so that the technicians can ready the next volley, but this show had probably the biggest fireworks I've ever seen.     ... relief for "someone" who threw her back out twisting and lifting her suitcase.

    Our hotel shuttle will take us back for the 15 minute ride to the airport at 0800. We'll continue our JAL flight to Bangkok and hope to arrive there around 1600.
