... e else there it made no difference and it was an absolute bargain for a great place to hang our for a few days.

We hired one of the scooters parked outside the hostel and, armed with a map of the island, headed north on the smooth tarmac. Langkawi is a great place to ride around- the roads are all decent, there's not much traffic and it is big enough to be able to enjoy a nice long ride. We first visited the Seven Wells, a spectacular collection of pools above ...

... so many people feel the need to go to this one because of the film.
In the evening, we went up to the sunset viewpoint. It was quite steep and harder going, taking the scenic route we chose, than expected. One day we did make ourselves get up and go on a snorkelling trip. I was slightly worried to be honest after my last attempt at ...

... activities. We hiked to Tonsai Beach, kayaked, laid around together in the rain, had drinks over looking the beautiful views. We randomly were there for the Songkran festival ( Thai New Year ), which entails a few days of people running around soaking each other with buckets of water and spraying each other with water guns. On our last full day, we even did a day trip to Phi Phi, which is best seen in the day ( obnoxious at night... ). It was paradise at its finest. I ...

... or fire there. A pretty raucous, spring break type feel. On night two we went back to a bar we noticed on the first night with what looked like a more relaxed fire show. It was awesome, we sat in the front row and were super impressed with the 5 guys who put on the show. We've seen many a fire dancer since and are still convinced we got the best!! On the last night we finally found the bar for us. During the day we noticed a couple of ...
