Koh Phi Phi, Krabi, Thailand lucontour... air out and your mask off and then clearing it etc and only went to about 9 metres. We saw a small Hawkesbill turtle doing its thing on the bottom, loads of clown fish (Nemo's) and Dory's too !
We stopped for lunch before moving on to our second diving spot which ended up being pretty similar, you have to pinch yourself underwater sometimes when you realise you have been there for so long. One ...
Ko Phi Phi Don, Thailand woodsy79... extra 200 baht per person for an entrance fee, we weren't told before hand, and meant Emma had to sit with our boatman while I ran back to the hotel to get more money afterwards.

We set a bat and ball record of 99 hits and snorkeled amongst the coral and rocks chasing rainbow coloured fish. Annoyingly we can't show you any photos of the fish as our underwater camera is now out of action (we think we were sold a dud from Vietnam). As we ...
Ko Phi Phi Don, Thailand emmaandpaul... year old daughter up to sit in the middle of the monkeys as they devoured our cream buns. Moments later one of the monkeys behind her leaped up with a big monkey squeal and grabbed her by the hair and started attacking her. She got away relatively unscathed, but was shaken up and burst into tears… Stupid tourists! Oh… which reminds us, this stupid bloke about 6ft 5 and well built was acting the big lad to his mates while ...
Koh Phi Phi Don, Krabi, Thailand kateandlindsay... What luxury! We’d spend the rest of the night in, relaxing and watching tv, another rare treat.

Monday and Tuesday, October 19-21, 2009
Krabi, Thailand

There’s not much to say about the next few days since we did absolutely nothing! We didn’t leave the hotel except to go to dinner, we barely moved from pool side except to take refreshing dips. We didn’t even bother walking to the ocean for a swim. It was amazing.
Ban Ko, Krabi, Thailand claraz8... my Israeli friend Yael on our last night on Koh Phi Phi. I met her in Rio over a year ago, so it was cool to meet her again. We went to the beach party with her and her friend Moran, and it was pretty crazy....free whisky buckets (not 'normal' whisky - which I don't like), and entertainment with fire - hoop jumping, the burning skipping rope, and the limbo fire walk....

...we all just let the insane people get on with the fire daredevil tricks, lol!
Ko Phi Phi Don, Thailand kathryn77... still really hot, even though we did have a few showers which were refreshing - we had forgotten what rain was. After the beach we washed the sand from our bodies before heading back down to the beach for a massage and pedicure. Daniel decided to sit this one out and took a walk along the beach whilst Zoe and Laura had an hours alovera massage which was really relaxing followed by a free pedicure. Back to the hostel to get changed before tea. We hunted around ...
Krabi, Thailand dlz... at another little sort of river that carved out another island from the main island. We snorkelled some more, this was a little choppier water, but still a ton of fish. The reef was also much deeper, so there were bigger fish and more people, we stayed for about a half hour. The last stop on the boat trip (our personal longtail by the way, 15 dollars) was the beach/bay where they filmed "The Beach". This was the claim to fame for Ko Phi Phi, and ...
Ko Phi Phi, Thailand 101travel08... is about a foot long, black, with a weird amoeba-like appendage on one end (a mouth?) and a hole (an anus?) on the other. These things moved when you touched them but otherwise just lay on the bottom. Also lots of sea urchins. After leaving this island we paddled across the way to another island which had no shore, it was just an enormous mass of rock that apppears to be floating on the sea ...
Krabi, Thailand kimmieb... fire dancers on the beach, and a reaised log set up over the water, for people to balance on, while boxing each other. What a scene! We learn that it is Boxing Day - the day after Christmas. And then we are reminded that this day is the anniversary of the horrific tsunami that took place in the area in 2004. This beach was whiped out. Everything that we see today has been rebuilt by locals and international volunteers. Its a somber ending to an exciting day.........
