... full of amazing mosaics. After a few hours in Ravenna, we had a 3 1/2 hour driving through the Alps until we arrived in Tuscany just as there was the most magnificent sunset ever. Our hotel in Assisi is up high on the hill by the Basilica. It is a warming evening and the moon is almost full. It has been a truly glorious day. Cannot wait to see what tomorrow brings. Some literary types get all stick-up-their-butt about popular, YA (Young Adult) fantasy novels, but I love them, for one simple reason: they're FUN. Just a word in my defense: "Twilight" is a four-novel series that features two main characters who fall in ...

... who like St Francis was born in a rich family and gave it all up to be a monk. The Buddha almost starved but the realized the truth was not at the extremes, but in the middle path. Starving oneself did not lead to enlightenment.

The Catholic Church built a huge church to honor St Francis, **********sistent with the lack of materiality St Francis preached. We saw the artwork in the church, which depicted how a ...
