After lunch we headed to the Geibi Gorge. This area is known for its fantastically-shaped rock formations towering high above the Satetsu River. Honestly,....we were about a week early. The cherry blossoms were just barely visible as you can see in the picture to the left.

... was surprised by the disaster site. It looked a lot better than I expected. The recovery efforts are progressing a lot faster than I thought. There was still a lot of evidence to prove the disaster did hit Kesennuma/Oshima but the people were still all smiles.
