Today we finished our work placement at the potato farm, possibly the only place in Japan without internet access. We are both pretty happy to be sitting in a clean and comfortable hotel room.

Apparently the prefecture north of us had a metre of snow today and lots of cars got trapped, but it was actually quite warm here/Mito. I STILL LIVE IN HOPE!

Kasama Chrysanthemum Festival

We went to Kasama twice in 2007, but both times it was dreary and rainy. This was a beautiful clear day (sandwiched in between several days of rain and gray skies, so a doubly nice day to get out), and we wanted to see it in the sunshine.
