We started the day with a Tibetian breakfast, a bit exotic for me but tastefull. Then, we went to the park for almost the whole day. As the day before, it was AMAZING; especially the five-flowers lake & the beautiful pearl waterfall ! :) Also, we had a look at the bamboo lake, a setting for the movie "Hero". Diamonds! And pearls and emeralds......we saw all of the gems today. Truly spectacular. A highlight of the trip so far.
And okay, I did get in the car with the driver this morning and he completed a very sedate four minute drive to get us close to the park entrance. Mind you, we have had two other drivers and cars during the day and for the evening activities. Mac had a talk with Kerry today expressing our reservations ...

Tonight was spent having dinner with some more travelers (yes, yak was on the menu again. I'm quite a fan!) I'm leaving for Chengdu tomorrow morning and unfortunately we all have separate bus times but will be meeting up in Chengdu tomorrow night. I'm excited to be back in some semi-warm place and to drink real (well, Starbucks!) coffee again!
Now I am going to make full use of my electric blanket heated bed and bid you all a happy Monday!
... the shots and focus on what I was there to see. Unless I'm forgetting somewhere, it's probably the best place I've been to in China in terms of natural scenery. Equal to parts of Yunnan anyway (which I went to in 200 ... 2009 i think?). The Tibetan influence here was pretty cool as well, and it always strikes me as a higher level of mysticism that I haven't been able to put a handle on, yet.

This is original panda country so panda goods for sale are to be found everywhere... Also this is a very well visited tourist area - a National Park, and another UNESCO World Heritage site. There were too many people in the park for the walkways - was really quite dangerous in places.
