... hours with my host Nai and the italian guy he's also hosting (which I'm not a fan of). Nai is super nice but the Italian guy is a bit weird. It's all good, just not a fan..
Tomorrow afternoon I should be heading into Amsterdam.. Hopefully it won't be raining quite so much there.
... who would not give out Roger’s personal information. He would email him to contact me.
We eventually found a bar and a wi-fi spot and checked our emails. I had mailed a postcard to Roger’s father asking him to email us. I was hoping there was an email from him. No luck.
Len had found a tourist office next to the bar. They offered 15 minutes free internet ...
... me - then ahead of me, I saw a policewoman stopping people walking the way I had just come - I asked her what was going on, and apparently someone had been stabbed about an hour ago! I was really shocked - I thought Holland was supposed to be really safe!??! Anyway, they obviously don't tolerate this kind of thing at all, as apparently this was them already doing a reconstruction! How fast?! Plus, so many of the sideroads were sealed ...
Delft, Zuid-Holland, Netherlands kathryn77Hi guys, On Sunday, Petra and I drove to Delft to meet up with my long lost mate Shane Yates, his son Samuel and his brother Daniel. We had a fantastic day of sampling Belgian beers in the local pubs, checking out a Jazz/Funk band in a pub that was 500yrs old and playing pool over a couple of quiet Jack Daniels. Heemstede, Netherlands adriannelson... had shown to us. We also said we could not go to sleep until we had unpacked a suitcase. Right at 9 PM, we both could barely keep our eyes open because of the jetlag and finally decided it was okay to go to sleep!!! Amsterdam, Netherlands msbrookstravels... So I got a bit frustrated and bored, wading through the crummy stuff to find the good stuff. But the weather was beautiful, the town WAS quaint (kinda like a dwarf Amsterdam: the town was smaller, the canals smaller, the buildings smaller....) and we had a nice day. Headed back to Amsterdam on the train around 6 p.m. and ate dinner at the Pancake Bakery, where we had unremarkable dinner pancakes and out of this world cinnamon poffertjes (little mini pancakes) with poached pears.
Delft, Netherlands purpleturtleHave you ever wondered what it would feel like to be followed? To know that there are people watching your every move? Yeah, well, we know what feels like now... Today we decided to visit The Hague. This is home to all of the important government buildings in the country and also The International Criminal Court. Our first stop was The American Embassy. We only knew where it was located because Nate received a letter from the ...
