    Nanshan Temple and Canal Trip

A travel blog entry by caroline63 on Nov 01, 2015

We went back to Casa Zoe's for breakfast after moving from the Kempinski Hotel back to the Gran Park Hotel for work tomorrow. We then went to visit the Nanshan Temple, and walked around a market area, a bit like Confucius Temple area in Nanjing with small shops and stalls.

We then took a lovely boat trip down the Grand Canal (which we have been on in Hangzhou also), stopping off at a hand-made brick museum. Another lovely day.

We were treated like celebrities and all the kids wanted a photo with us! I tried a game with a hoop where you have to guide the hoop along with a metal stick that is curved at the ...

We experienced Luoyang campus life today. We walked through a modified version of the students schedule. The students are up very early every morning ready for their 6:30am exercises. What a sight. They run around the track for almost half an hour. Then it's off to breakfast for 30 minutes and then class begins at 7:30am. The school day ends at approximately 9:30pm. The last class of the day is study hall, where they must do ...

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. No turkey dinner. Maybe a few small pieces of fatty duck. We haven't written because we've had no WiFi for the past several days. Our group is comprised of 21 people in total: 5 from the Toronto area, 2 from Port Dover ON, and 12 from various places in Alberta. Jack and I are the only Vancouverites. After two days immersed in the hustle and bustle of Shanghai we departed to a slower paced area. Wuxi and Szuhou are sister cities. They are considered ...
