As planned, we visited the City Zoo today. The weather was extremely hot, even at 9:30 am. Us and two other families, along with our CCAI guide Paul, made the trek to the zoo. We were dripping with sweat but thoroughly enjoying the visit, which started at the monkey exhibits. Zayne was taking it all in with lots of ooohs and aaaahs at the various …

    Day 15 - Visa Appointment

Our official business was essentially concluded today with our visit to the U.S. Consulate here in Guangzhou early this morning to take our oath and finalize the visas. It was an early day as we all left the hotel at 7:30, and there were quite a few cranky kids. The consulate was packed, which Jason says is always the case, but the line for US …

Mom helped him jump in the pool, i carried him on my back, we played a game of hide and seek, he almost floated on water! But the fun soon ended when a party for a …

Last night we went on the Pearl River Cruise, and a good time was had by all. The boat and the ride were indeed much like the General Jackson in Nashville. We got an impressive view of the city of Guangzhou from the Pearl River (which itself is not so impressive as it is highly polluted). We ate Papa Johns for dinner and got to see the city lights …

Saturday here was a travel day to Guangzhou, which is another very large city (approx. 17 million people). We thought the day was going to be easy, but it was a little tougher than we anticipated. It started as usual with breakfast at the hotel, then we packed up in our hotel and bused to the airport, along with 5 other CCAI families. Zayne did not …
