Weeks 4 (and 5 will follow tomorrow)

... off with my experience as a student representative for the physics department. I must state here don’t be proud of this achievement I was the only student studying for the whole year and I got suckered into it. I am not a super over-achiever just a victim of the system. However, I decided since I am one of their first reps I was going to make the most of it and be helpful by suggesting a few things for introductory week. This ...

Back home and it's all over (for this year...)

... past our alloted take-off time and it was obvious we were sat on the apron waiting for a free slot, which luckily did show up about 20 mins later. The flight itself was fine and short. The aircraft was full of people of a certain age and older plus a large man of the cloth. It turned out this was a church congregation returning from a pilgrimmage to the Holy Land. I noticed a woman across the aisle praying as we lifted off and as we ...

Goodbye Liverpool!

... came... and the next day... and probs the next day... and still no Gavin. So were pretty sure he is being kind of a jerk about the whole moving out thing and we sit down and calculate and we decide that its better to just peace out and loose our deposit then wait around and deal with Gavin and who knows what else. So that is what we do. We called all of our utilities and stuff and let them know that we will be moving out. Well Scottish power (obviously our power peeps ...

bar esquisito

Tour 9001 / 0808 Day 7

... Then it started raining and we were traveling on a scenic drive through the countryside and past a number of Slate quarries which the area is well known for. We continued through the Snowdonia National Park and were receiving the history of the area from our guide Trisha. We arrived at a place called Betws-y-Coed where we had lunch. It was raining lightly but this rain // showery weather has not really affected our tour. We had 1.25 hours here and had Leek Soup, bread ...

Two month to go.......

... berth in future and miss spell the words I at least know in my own head I'm supposed to be using. Anyway I felt inspired the other day after reading Rudyard Kiplings poem 'IF' and if you've never read it, get onto google and just type IF in, trust me it's a belter. Just for your amusement I've included some pics from my time in Oz last years 'arrh the memories'and don't worry they weren't my pink pyjamas I've got on, they were friends lets just say no more.

... Mugabe was thought-provoking and rather troubling. Unfortunately as there are no oil supplies to be gained there, this form of terror continues unabated without international intervention.

Back in Liverpool, we spent the evening in a couple of pubs around Mathew Street and the Cavern Club, getting the full appreciation of the Beatles cashing-in that is going on in the city. I wonder how much more cultured this milking could possibly be come 2008.
