... and Lindsey were praised for spending every last cent of the allowed daily budget.<br><br>That night, we had a delicious goodbye Mexican feast for Emma and Paul followed by a S'mores desert (nobody on our truck had ever had s'mores before!). We tried our best to convince them to stay on the truck for two more weeks, but we were unsuccessful. We enjoyed a few last drinks together at the bar that night and said our goodbyes :(

... athletic. After a few games I jumped in the pool and the guys went off to shower. I was in a contemplative mood and so I sat by the pool for a while by myself. ... there are zero shops or gas stations from here on out. This made for a long day in a very new place which was a bit outside of our comfort zone (hello donkey herds in the roundabout). Chris was struggling a bit getting used to the gears but was managing well. We re-packed the truck like 3xs and called it an early night after reviewing our maps and routes again. We were waaaayy too excited to start the real safari adventure tomorrow!<br>

... There are 2 pools to cool off in or you can just sit along the riverside watching the boats and wildlife go by. The campsite is being upgraded and planting along the pitches is taking place. The ablution blocks are good and there was hot water for the showers, although as the weather was really warm we appreciated cold showers more. ... they are there. We spotted the springboks first (a small type of deer I suppose that springs when moving quickly over the plains). Next was the zebras (there were lots of these everywhere and after the initial excitement we were just as uninterested in them as we were the springboks. We spotted some birds including a vulture feasting on a carcass after the hyenas had run away. Soon enough we were rewarded with the sighting of an elephant. ... and have been told explicitly that we are not able to venture out alone without a guide because there is a high liklihood of being attacked by a wild animal. Apparently one tourist went for a walk alone and was trampled by buffalo. <br><br>We will stay there overnight and return to Maun on Monday. Great way to see the Delta. <br><br>The other Oasis truck has broken down yet again. 5 flat tyres and break downs numerous times in 4,000km. We've had 3 punctures and 2 1hr breakdowns in over 24,000km!!! Jay had to go and collect them from the side of the road 75km out of town where they had been waiting for about 5 hrs.
