... the room to myself with the occasional guest popping in to use the espresso machine for a complimentary afternoon pick me up.
There’s a fundraiser onboard helping raise money for the Make A Wish Foundation and it’s called Run Across The Atlantic. All staff and guests are encouraged to donate money and/or time on one of two treadmills that are set up on the promenade to run or walk for 20 minute increments, the idea ...
... aquamarine water... we were also greeted by the local stingray..... and a little historical tour of the island..... and a moment on a sandbar.... This is privately owned cay (pronounced as key) ... 44 of them owned by one person.
I would say this is one real Bahamas......
On our way to the island tour, we were welcomed by a friendly stingray and gave us the experience of being suctioned by its mouth as we tried to feed him. But then, he realized that we don't have any food for him so eventually, he left but gave us the knowledge of not fearing them. They are gentle creatures of the sea.
Saddleback Cay, New Providence, Bahamas hecqsA different kind of experience... feeding shark in broad daylight.....shoreside.....
Free port has one at Pier One, but you are like so high above the waters and in the evening. So all you are seeing are but splashes made by the shark as they feed.
Here, you will see the entire length of the shark under the very crystal clear waters, just one meter high.
... s been practicing his golf skills on the upper deck by hitting the ball into a net - he reckons he's get good at it now - anyone fancy challenging him to a game? Maybe you could come and join us in the Bahama's :-) - Warmley golf course isn't sunny enough for us!
We've also tried our hand at a little bit of basketball - but neither of us are too good at it and the americans are showing us up!
Yesterday, the ship stopped at Grand ...
We stopped at Princess Cays, but my wife and myself had been there before and were not interested in getting off the ship to re-visit the island. We stayed on board and took advantage of the ship being emptied of most of the passengers and enjoyed a couple hours in the exercise room, spa and at the pool.
We signed up for a shoulder and foot massage and it was very enjoyable. The masseuses did try to sell us the products used for the massage, but they weren ...

Andros Island, Bahamas catdance62Finally made it to Atlantis. Wow, the seaquarium is amazing. Nobu was fabulous. Krysia took forever to lose $50 on the slots. Chris won nothing. All the rooms were booked, but we managed to find one unit at Harbourside that have never been used, which we used to get 4 hours of sleep. Yes we set out alarm clock for 4 am to make it to Eleuthra by 7AM.
Nassau, Bahamas ccbcpaMy first year dating Lu, first year living in Boston... We took our first trip together, his first trip anywhere outside the US besides Portugal. We got a pretty nice (for carribean standards), hotel at Xanadu Beach and Resort. They upgraded us to a King since the hotel was empty. The beach was the backyard, so we swam in the low-tide at midnight the first night, under the brightest moon i've every seen. The next day we rented a scooter ...
Freeport, Bahamas mtonTook our first family vacation in a long time with the folks and little brother to Key West, Florida during Christmas break just now. It was December and 80 degrees or so outside..so beautiful really. but wow, the economic disparity between the way I spend money and my parents spend money is startling. Hopefully I will never make any money. THat way I will never be able to trick myself into thinking that it's necessary to have so much. So summary ...
