... We found a great info centre and were directed to some local campgrounds. After being sadly turned away from the first one because they didn't have any toilet facilities, we found a nice little spot where they kept a bathroom open for us. I guess most people carry their bathroom facilities with them here and many places are closing up for the season. Surrounded by fields of corn, ( no Gary, not the fields of Bali) we toasted the end to another great day. Life is ...

A short visit because of weather

    Sept 14th

We decided to add a stop today and it was a short drive from Montreal to Trois-Riviers. It is the second oldest city in Quebec but it is not very large. The drive was picturesque, as usual, but we are now starting to see a hint of fall color in the leaves. We again noticed cathedrals everywhere. ... clerestory windows--but it just was not going to work.

Back to the desk. Well, what do you have on the first floor. Nothing. But, we can put you in a new building that isn't quite finished! Well, we wound up taking that at a considerable discount. You could still smell the construction adhesive and paint . . . no toilet paper holder, no tissue holder, and no hook for a towel on the back of the bathroom door, oh ...

    By Sunset

I watched the gently failing light from my single seat. I recognized the rise and fall of the hills across the St. Lawrence as we entered Quebec. It was very beautiful to see the sunset across the water. I couldn't read the stops we made along the way because my eyes were fighting the twilight lighting, as all non nocturnal beings ...
