      ... upon arrival which I found rather amusing given how far away it is from the rest of europe! Anyway as a now seasoned backpacker I worked round this expensive food situation by only eating as a treat ( The meka fish was fresh and the Chicken Chow Mein was good also) and visiting the supermarket to buy noodles and snack foods to eat on other nights.       ... I'm sorry - to me they just looked extremely funny!!)...but I admired their 'free spirit' in being able to do that!!...I wonder if I'll ever be able to venture out of my inhibitions to try this out???!! might be quite 'liberating' ( literally and figuratively ??). So did lots of walking around this important port/ hub of Polynesian public and private governmental buildings - as well as the having the residence of the French High Commissioner/ Presidence.
