Tahiti

Hello kids, I am back again! (after many complaints that I write way too much!) We are now in Papeete, in Tahiti Nui. We crossed the date line, so we are back in time! First thing to say about Tahiti: we were welcomed with flowers, and people playing guitar. We felt really welcome! Please BVI: TAKE NOTES!! It made me realise at what point the BVI suck big time, regarding tourism. We didnīt reserve for a place to stay, so we looked around, and by chance we found a french hostel called Chez Dan...

... see what we could find, off we set down the steep hill which lead from the house to the road and round the corner up. We made it about half way up the hill before Daniel spotted the group of youths from the previous night who were looking for trouble when we drove past. He decided it best that we didn't continue any further and we tried a different route, with only one other route we turned back and headed that way. We came to a dead end at which point we decided to ...

... water and have a look. Good thing, because it was hot! and jumping in the water was the best way to cope. Time on the boat was spent swimming, snorkeling, watching the sun set behind the nearby island of Moorea, and observing the little dramas on neighboring sailboats. Specifically, a very busy young Don Juan, who had every adolescent girl in the marina visiting his boat at all hours. <br> In Tahiti, we met up for the second time with Magi the magician, a Catalan we first met ...

... deployed around the building and multiple streams of water were aimed at the building. But for over an hour the fire was the clear victor, then as its source of fuel decreased and the amount of water increased, the battle turned and the local Fire Department seemed to have the fire contained, but not out. As we left the battle between the Fire Department and the fire was still fully underway, but the smoke was turning lighter and the columns not as large. We left as ...

Off to Tahiti. ¿Will I get upgraded to First class? hope so. hehe No upgrade unfortunaly but the plane was pretty much empty so I had all the 3 seats in the middle for myself and as such could lie down easily and confortably. Arrived early and waited a bit for Julien (my host) to come and pick me up. Arrived at his, everybody else was sleeping so had a quick introductory beer and went to sleep. Next day woke up early went off to papeete by foot (living at Faaa right now) and walked ...

Day 1 - Underway

... home, but thats ok! The ship is really nice and small. We left the harbor at about 10pm our time. I am still getting used to the rocking boat feeling. I know what it must feel like to walk around drunk! It is next to impossible to walk in a straight line! I am off to go explore the ship some with my cousin Matt and then to bed! Will try to post pictures tomorrow.

So Faa'a Away

... Longlegs some space for his...well, his long legs. Jacob left Kirsty with the luggage and went off to find something to eat and drink, in order that we could take our malaria pills. Not that New Zealand is a malaria hotspot or anything: we had to finish the course from having been in South America. He found himself in the unusual position of not knowing what the hell the local currency was worth (or, indeed, what it was). No ...

After we finally got across town (busy due to xmas eve shopping) we head inland up in to the mountains. It was raining on and off but it didn´t matter ...

TAHITI and the rest of October

... distance of a supermarket, some shops, and restaurants on the beach, and the employees of all those places knew at least a little English so communicating was much less stressful. There were a bunch of roosters and hens roaming around our hostel so we got quite a wake-up call right outside our open window every morning around 5am when the roosters decided to let us know the sun was up. Thus my sleep-wake schedule is still pretty jacked even ...
