Big resort but in a good location with a number of eatery options nearby. 3.2km long pool winds its way through the complex.

Big Time Resort in Khao Lak Thailand

If you only have time for a short stay - one to two weeks- this would be a pretty amazing option- never have seen a swimming pool quite like this- lots of Swedes here as I think much of the country must be in Thailand this year- the beach sweeps almost 15kms from end to end and was ground zero for the Tsunami of 2004

Beautiful resort, the friendliest staff that we have met in Thailand, so close to the beach and a mind blowing-ly big swimming pool that was literally a step away from our decking. Would definitely recommend!

    Day 15
Had to have breakfast on my own as my Dad had his phone off so didn't get my messages as to what time we should go to breakfast. I tried to find their room but got totally lost!

I went on a mission to eat as much as I possibly could! Had the usual bacon, sausage, egg then added sautéed potatoes …

    ... after we arrived.

A few minutes later we all got out again at Tesco and were encouraged to buy any water, beer, snacks etc we felt we might need for our stay at the primitive floating raft-houses. Marilyn and I invested in a pack of beer, unnecessarily as it turned out as there was plenty of cold beer available in the restaurant. Finally we reached the dam where we bought our National Park entry tickets and boarded a longtail boat for the journey to ...

I finished the weekend at Phuyai Dum restaurant, somewhere that is fast becoming one of my favourites. It is a fairly traditional Thai eating place that is trying to widen its appeal and attract more foreigners. It was very busy and I had quite a long wait for my food but the lady proprietress was so apologetic and my fish with celery and oyster sauce was so delicious when it arrived that she was immediately forgiven.

... for his permanently grim expression.

Lunch was a little disappointing - mixed fried rice, a watery soup and some watermelon. Russell and Mari filled up on purchases of grilled chicken and pancakes from the host of motorcycle vendors that gather in the school at lunchtime. Then it was the worst class of the week, and they lived up to expectations. The boys turned up 10 minutes late and wandered in and out of the room whenever they felt like it. We had no idea who ...
