If you only have time for a short stay - one to two weeks- this would be a pretty amazing option- never have seen a swimming pool quite like this- lots of Swedes here as I think much of the country must be in Thailand this year- the beach sweeps almost 15kms from end to end and was ground zero for the Tsunami of 2004

Beautiful resort, the friendliest staff that we have met in Thailand, so close to the beach and a mind blowing-ly big swimming pool that was literally a step away from our decking. Would definitely recommend!

After breakfast in the hotel we wandered down Asoke Road to Terminal 21 Shopping Centre. We stopped by a local market in the university grounds on the way for a couple of souvenirs for Kate.
T21 had a display of motorcycles including some pretty nice Ducatis and Hondas. Memories of years ago came back but these bikes seemed to be monsters …

Our afternoon classes were on “Negative and Positive answers”, a lesson Nicky had taught at last weeks’ English Camp which therefore presented few problems. Then it was time for the usual speeches and presentation of certificates. The volunteers took it in turns to speak to ...

... to wear off! Josh and I were presenting “occupations at the airport”. There were some difficult words for the children to get their tongues round such as air traffic controller and aircraft engineer, and to keep it interesting for the more able pupils we also introduced short descriptions of what each airport worker did. The first worksheet required the children to match the worker with the description of his role. Most coped quite well ...

... Burmese children were characteristically polite and patient.

I had missed my regular Saturday evening visit to the market and so instead made a trip there on Monday evening, making one or two purchases before going for a lovely sunset meal on the beach.

Tuesday’s teaching was tiring as usual. Once again we had to confiscate a knife from a boy in one of the classes, this time a rather dangerous looking hunting knife. By now I am ...
