Big resort but in a good location with a number of eatery options nearby. 3.2km long pool winds its way through the complex.

Big Time Resort in Khao Lak Thailand

If you only have time for a short stay - one to two weeks- this would be a pretty amazing option- never have seen a swimming pool quite like this- lots of Swedes here as I think much of the country must be in Thailand this year- the beach sweeps almost 15kms from end to end and was ground zero for the Tsunami of 2004

Beautiful resort, the friendliest staff that we have met in Thailand, so close to the beach and a mind blowing-ly big swimming pool that was literally a step away from our decking. Would definitely recommend!

    Day 15
Had to have breakfast on my own as my Dad had his phone off so didn't get my messages as to what time we should go to breakfast. I tried to find their room but got totally lost!

I went on a mission to eat as much as I possibly could! Had the usual bacon, sausage, egg then added sautéed potatoes …

... but saw none of those. We had a good view of a bison at one stage but otherwise we saw only birds - sea eagles, two sorts of hornbills and a beautiful kingfisher. It was extraordinarily tranquil however and a most enjoyable trip.

We had fish from the lake for dinner and then sat and chatted with the rest of the group, one Californian girl who spent most of her time doing yoga and meditating, two young Dutch girls, two young Swiss girls and two ...

... and hit the bamboo early. I would learn soon later that my bloody knee was about to show its true colors. I woke to pee out my bamboo hut window in the middle of the night, and felt some serious pain as the blood rushed to the joint ( my knee that is...). **** balls. It really hurt. I sucked it up and slept, but the next day I was forced to sit out the hike, and lay around like a lump. At least it was in a stunning landscape!

... Amazon is not the only car in the car park with a hole in a piston. The Jaguar XK150 driven by the all Malaysian crew of Syed Jamalullail, has a hole in piston number five and this morning there were various debates about how best to proceed – the car has been blowing out blue smoke for the past couple of days. The car was acquired only a couple of months before the event and had not benefited ...

... well. It was nearly 6.00 pm when we got back to Khao Lak but we still hadn’t finished as we had a pile of repairs to do.

Once again we had rain on Wednesday night and I needed my umbrella for the short walk to Sun Star Siam Restaurant where I tucked into a huge fillet of steamed fish with ginger before heading once again to Tarzan Bar, one of the few bars which isn’t entirely open air.

At the office at 8.30 on Thursday morning I met Martin ...
