Big Time Resort in Khao Lak Thailand

If you only have time for a short stay - one to two weeks- this would be a pretty amazing option- never have seen a swimming pool quite like this- lots of Swedes here as I think much of the country must be in Thailand this year- the beach sweeps almost 15kms from end to end and was ground zero for the Tsunami of 2004

Beautiful resort, the friendliest staff that we have met in Thailand, so close to the beach and a mind blowing-ly big swimming pool that was literally a step away from our decking. Would definitely recommend!

      Day 15
Had to have breakfast on my own as my Dad had his phone off so didn't get my messages as to what time we should go to breakfast. I tried to find their room but got totally lost!

I went on a mission to eat as much as I possibly could! Had the usual bacon, sausage, egg then added sautéed potatoes …

It was Martin’s last day and so when he took charge of the classes and started ordering us as well as the children around I just let him get on with it. The children were, in the main, very well behaved. The two girls remarked on how lovely it was to be met by so many smiling faces and how much better the discipline here seemed than in Germany (not if your listened to Martin and Uli). Of course they have yet to experience a “Terrible Tuesday”. ...

It was quite cheap, but then again it wasn’t exactly overflowing with Thais. I had a very tasty Thai chicken green curry and rice.

It was Ian and Barbara’s last night and so we later met up at Everyday Restaurant for a final beer with Ken. As usual he had some astonishing stories to ...

... was full of news of the celebrations for the King’s birthday.

When I travelled back and forth over the mountain road last year my attention was often drawn to a footpath disappearing into the forest and a sign reading “Small Sandy Beach”. I had heard from volunteers who had hired motorbikes to get there that it was a lovely place, but it seemed a long walk from Khao Lak and so I had never been there. I had mentioned this ...

On either side of the temple are pagodas -- the one on the left is a shrine of Confucius while the one on the right houses ancestral tablets of immigrants who founded the temple.
