Big Time Resort in Khao Lak Thailand

If you only have time for a short stay - one to two weeks- this would be a pretty amazing option- never have seen a swimming pool quite like this- lots of Swedes here as I think much of the country must be in Thailand this year- the beach sweeps almost 15kms from end to end and was ground zero for the Tsunami of 2004

Beautiful resort, the friendliest staff that we have met in Thailand, so close to the beach and a mind blowing-ly big swimming pool that was literally a step away from our decking. Would definitely recommend!

The Thai children found it very difficult to pronounce and Uli declared that the Germans too found it a difficult word and so we should remove it from the lesson or, as they do in Germany, call then chips. Of course Russell and I were having none of this, but I am starting to worry about being able to hold my own in support of the the Queen’s English once Russell has departed.

Each small hotel and guest house that I passed had a collection of powerful machines parked outside. Upon reaching Bang Niang I found that the main event of the weekend was just beginning at the Tsunami Memorial Park and there was a huge traffic jam as hundreds of bikers from all over Thailand ...

Thankfully he was better today and we had a wonderful trip, first to some markets, then the Elephant safari where I tried out for a Mamout's position but decided that retirement was better. Then we were treated to a lovely Thai lunch before enjoying a very relaxing paddle down the Kkao Sok river as the photos will attest. Some wonderful scenery and a great day out to bring to an end our Thailand experience for 2014. Tomorrow ...

... Claire is from Australia and is traveling on her own. She is really cute and lovely and wanted to go to the park so we invited her to do the tour with us and so we matched our dates to come here.
The next day we departed with just an overnight bag to one of the most beautiful places i have ever seen. We started with a boat ride that drove us to our accommodation for the night. You will see in the pictures that we stayed on a floating bungalow (ours is the one that ...

As I was drinking my tea however, I noticed it getting darker and darker until the heavens finally opened and we had the downpour that had been threatening all day, accompanied by some dramatic thunder and lightning. Rain at last! People were running around squealing with excitement and taking photographs.

It was quite a storm but the rain had stopped by 7.30pm when I went out to meet Nicky for dinner. She brought with her an American girl called Maddy ...
