Big resort but in a good location with a number of eatery options nearby. 3.2km long pool winds its way through the complex.

Big Time Resort in Khao Lak Thailand

If you only have time for a short stay - one to two weeks- this would be a pretty amazing option- never have seen a swimming pool quite like this- lots of Swedes here as I think much of the country must be in Thailand this year- the beach sweeps almost 15kms from end to end and was ground zero for the Tsunami of 2004

Beautiful resort, the friendliest staff that we have met in Thailand, so close to the beach and a mind blowing-ly big swimming pool that was literally a step away from our decking. Would definitely recommend!

We had now finished teaching at the local primary schools. All the schools had either already started their long “summer” holidays or were involved in end of term tests and exams. We understood, however, that Sunny and Ken had a few “English Camps” lined up for us and so there would still be some work for us to do. The first English Camp was scheduled for this week and we had all been looking forward to it as it was going to be ...

They were at the sweeping up stage but there were a couple of badly mangled vehicles at the side of the road, including a songthaew taxi. ( I later learned that it had been a smash involving two taxis and six people had been taken to hospital.)

... I had a visit to Bang Niang Beach and decided that, by way of getting some extra exercise, I would walk there. It was a bit of a slog going along the busy main road in the full sun but I took it slowly, stopping to drink water as I went and in just over an hour reached the seafront where I was drawn into a little coffee shop for an iced coffee. It was then another 15 minute walk right down to the northern end of the beach.

... finished in preparation for the 10th anniversary of the tsunami in a few weeks time. The area had been concreted and a garden laid out with water in the centre, a bridge and covered pavilion, footpaths and exercise equipment. It was clearly someone’s grand plan but it looked a bit scruffy and the water was already full of plastic bottles and polystyrene food containers. Next to it was a large marble monument resembling a wave. The ...
