Big resort but in a good location with a number of eatery options nearby. 3.2km long pool winds its way through the complex.

Big Time Resort in Khao Lak Thailand

If you only have time for a short stay - one to two weeks- this would be a pretty amazing option- never have seen a swimming pool quite like this- lots of Swedes here as I think much of the country must be in Thailand this year- the beach sweeps almost 15kms from end to end and was ground zero for the Tsunami of 2004

Beautiful resort, the friendliest staff that we have met in Thailand, so close to the beach and a mind blowing-ly big swimming pool that was literally a step away from our decking. Would definitely recommend!

Today is our final day here. After a very stressful start I missed out on 1/2 my holidays but it's all ok now.
khao Lak is nothing like Phuket, Pattaya, patong, Karon etc. Much more suitable for the family and older people I think.
We didn't even leave the resort except for long walks along the beach. Local fishermen throwing their circular …

    Rainy day acticities.

It has rained nearly all day. Torrential rain at times.
What to do on rainy days???
No scuba diving because of the stormy weather they have experienced .
What better than a Thai cooking class. Hopefully the weather will improve.
Kay, Toni and I meandered off to the cooking class. First was an entree, Yam som o Goong Sod Pomelo …

    I am here at last.

After 4 nightmare days caught up in the red tape of the Lost Passport saga, I'm now in beautiful Khao Lak.
Hot, humid, a few torrential downpours of rain bring it on. I can handle almost anything now.
Our travel deal includes complimentary, massages, cooking lesson, breakfast, lunch and dinner in any of the four restaurants here.

The perfect ending to my adventure!

    Day 15
Had to have breakfast on my own as my Dad had his phone off so didn't get my messages as to what time we should go to breakfast. I tried to find their room but got totally lost!

I went on a mission to eat as much as I possibly could! Had the usual bacon, sausage, egg then added sautéed potatoes …

... guides name was Luna. We drove around to a few more hotels to pick-up other people that were coming on the tour. There were 13 passenger seats in the van and they were all full by the time we hit the road! 4 of them were Russians and they had an interpreter and the rest of us were English. This wasn't advertised but it was a 2½ hour drive to Phang Nga where we were going trekking! Yay

After the drive, we arrived at Phang Nga elephant park ...
