Nothing could prepare me for what I would experience so far in China. Most people would think that the teaching aspect would be the most difficult to adapt to, but I have thoroughly enjoyed my time teaching in China so far. ... Foreign Language school where we met with teacher from England, India and other speaking countries. That evening we went to see the kites wired with lights and flying in convoys (some of them) the others very large and shining with colorful lights. At this point the temperature was freezing with a ver low windchill factor.

Since a main reason for visiting Weifang was to see the kite festival, after dinner, we went down town to watch the lit up kites in the night sky. Quite a festive atmosphere and the kites were beautiful. It was a long day and we were glad to get back to the Li Jing Hotel to rest.

Much to our surprise it became very cold overnight. When we looked from the hotel window, all local vehicles were covered in snow. We do not know if plans changed because of weather or if this was always the plan. But at 7:15 am Fan Yan and a school principal took us for a local breakfast of noodle soup and something like pancakes which were stuffed with meat and/or vegetables. Then ...
