... will head north to our ultimate destination of Cooktown which is as far north as you can go on sealed road. After Cooktown we will come back to Brisbane via an inland route. All that should take about 6 weeks - after that our return itinerary & route are flexible, though we will probably not go further south than Sydney. We will update you again once we are on the road!

... excited to see them up close. Sandy kindly let us borrow her car to drive up there, which was quite a nice drive in itself. We spent a few hours chilling with the roo's and koalas which made all our Australian dreams come true. On our way home we headed up to Mt. Lofty lookout which had a great view out over Adelaide and the coast. After getting back into town, we got the tram down to Glenelg to have a look at the beach ...

The further south we went in the Outback, the more "outback-y" it seemed. The surroundings turned to red desert resembling the surface of Mars or a post-apocalyptic Earth, the days were hot but the nights turned frigid, and the road just went on and on. ... experience and another tick on the things to do list. Left the park and went on a very scenic drive to the toy factory where we saw the biggest rocking horse in the world, pretty big at 18metres high. The factory specialised in wooden toys, most came flat pack for self assembly but we're still too big and heavy to get in the suitcase. Sorry kids.
