... because we haven't done many side trips in Jamaica, but they cost so much. To leave the hotel costs you $100 minimum in a taxi, even if it's 15 minutes down the road, then you add on the tour price and tips and it comes very costly. Also, after 6 full-on weeks where we were doing something everyday, it is nice to sit around doing nothing for a change. A whole heap of Pommies turned up today and have spent all day at the swim up beer drinking. No hats, ...

Woke up Friday to another glorious day. I think we've only had 1 or 2 rainy days all trip. Over indulged at breakfast and lunch, will have to start eating smaller meals. Fletch and I took a snorkelling trip out to the reef. It was ok and we saw some tropical fish but it was nowhere near as good as Vanuatu. ... there just in time, don't like these close calls, not good for the stress levels. From Miami we flew to Montego Bay which was only an hour and a half flight. Got to our hotel, and it's fantastic. It's got a nice big pool right next to the beach, a lazy river and a couple of water slides. We've got the all-inclusive package so you can eat and drink as much as you want. Spent the afternoon floating around the pool drinking Piña Coladas and Red Stripe beer ...

... pools and whilst they looked clean and we saw workers dumping bags of chlorine in them, you still wondered if a resulting ear infection would be the outcome a quick dip. Staff were pretty ambivalent here as well, a raise of the eyebrows indicating you had their attention. ... of the gazebo. Brought our chairs right into the water. So refreshing. There was only one other couple on the beach. There is a nice cool breeze. Afterwards we waked to the west side and I went into the huge hot tub. It could seat 35 people but I was alone. The water was so hot. Probably 105 degrees. It really helped my achy bones.
