... bad as cars lined up to get into the Great St Bernard Pass back to Switzerland.

Anyway, we arrived and were delighted with our Hotel Milleluci. There are only 4 couples here and it is a great spot for a free day.

Aosta does not do much for me as a place, but, apparently, is a great Winter skiing centre. The city centre trades on tourists visiting ancient Roman ruins, but ...

... about an hours drive from BSM. I must say I can't get over how Ron has managed this whole project. Everything we'd read about the bureaucracy entailed in buying a car in France is true. We went to a local restaurant and ate some pizza, and wandered the streets a little bit before heading to the train station.

And that's about all!

From Italy, with love,

... huge boom to shift the loose snow. So, until the all clear, only the lower slopes were open with the result that all the lifts were congested with long queues. Anyway, we got going once the tops slopes were open and Sophie, Anna and I headed to the highest peak in the 3 Valleys, Point du Bouchet, at 3230m. Some of the skiing was hard going as there were tricky moguls to navigate but it was worth the effort for the beautiful views ...
