2 hours in Monaco

ok, it was more "collecting a new country" than being really interested in Monaco. Strange, when you go there from Nice airport by bus it costs you 18 € one way, when you go from Nice bus terminal it costs 1 € one way. Monaco is a very clean city. I have never seen so many big and expensive cars. I saw the casino and the castle. Nice, but not spectacular.

Nice

... have an amazing view from Colline du Chateau. On saturday (November 28) we had sunshine and 19 degrees (end of November) and I was even swimming in the sea (15 gegrees), on sunday, November 29 we had rain and thunderstorms so that caused a delay of the plane of three hours. Best breakfast in town you find in "Les pains a tables" close to the market. Nice is a city IŽd love to visit once a year minimum.....

Less than 4 weeks to go.....

... Not only have the donations received already far exceeded my expectations, but the kind words and general interest and support that I have received have been amazing. So thank you all. It is all very much appreciated and I can't believe that between us we really will change these little lives. It is my motto here in Antibes, but this is the ultimate "think globally; act locally ...

Boring drive day so here is life in Scooby

... we still would not be being tourists until 10am at the earliest. Because of our limited space Kim has become much more aware of the amount of rubbish we throw away as we have to take out the trash after every meal. Upside to Campervaning... the freedom is great. You can go to all of the little villages which are so difficult to get to when your backpacking. You're not tied to accommodation bookings or having to hunt out hostels on arrival to your destination. And you ...

Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous

On this morning we left Switzerland and travelled south into Italy en-route to the French Riviera. The scenery was pretty spectacular, with snow-white capped, jagged mountains that seemed to swallow the highway. Surreal!

When we arrived at our hotel we had about 30 mins to get ready for our trip into Monaco! On our drive to Monaco we crossed the bridge that Grace Kelly was killed on in a car accident. The roads are ...

Day Spas, 4 Stars (but no celebs) and Pebbley Bums

... towels...ahhh it was wonderful. We even had a towel warmer in the bathroom and a separate toilet!!!! Also a mini fridge and a tv which had a whopping two english speaking channels, so we were finally able to watch the news...

Our hotel also had a day spa section. We decided to cap off our extravagant weekend with some more splurge, a 1hr massage each! It also included half an hour to use the jacuzzi and steam room. It hurt the bank account, but it was worth every penny! By ...

The true city of sin and over indulgence

... heart desires. The cars are another story - everyone is driving a Bentley, Lamborghini, Ferrari - It is as if Mercedes are the cheap standard here and BMW are a rare find because they are not expensive enough. If you plan on coming, bring lots of money - Mojitos and Martinis cost over $30 in our hotel lobby bar. Take a look at my adventure so far.

... pebbly beaches. We spent our first day with a walk down the beach, where we came across a movie being filmed. The set was a beach volleyball court. Of course, being a pebbly beach, they had brought in some sand as well! You can see the square of sand in the photo of Nice. Then it was a steep climb uphill to look down over the city and across to the snow-capped alps, then a stroll through the vieux villes (old town), a lovely maze of medieval streets ...

Travel day from Avignon to Villefranche sur mer

... a few deep grunts and groans, he got our gear into the car and dropped us quickly to our Hotel Riviera www.hotel-riviera-hrv.com Franco at the Riviera reception, greeted us with "Halo, we expected you yesterday!". Oy vey! We looked at each other and realized that we have no idea what day of the week it is as we have not looked at television or a newspaper in English in almost 4 wks (and are loving it!). We apologized and told him of our journey and he ...

VISA woes and Wallet victory

... suggested that we go and see them about my wallet. But it was all the way over on the other side of the city, meaning a change of trains and a total of about 30 stations to get there. Did I want to bother? she asked. Oh, what the hell, we've got a couple of spare train tickets and a few hours to waste before leaving for Nice, so why not. So we made the trek, walked about a kilometre to find it ...
