... where we spent 4 weeks back in 2012. Not much has changed in 2 years... Some might say not much has changed in the last 300 years....but we've found a lovely small apartment. Dinner was red wine, cheese, baguette and pate. Accompanied by some lovely piano music from a nearby house...wonderful. After speaking to some Aussies - Georgie convinced Tony and I to take a 45km ride to Col du Galibier (elevation 2600m). Ratha won the sprint to confirm the green, Mark P still in ...

... especially when you are staring at a 148km journey with +3000 metres of climbing.
Headed out this morning with the intention of riding along the valley and back until I knocked off 100kms. I didn't want to hit any of the mountains at all, purely a flat ride today.

So that's precisely what I did until I knocked off 110kms. Up the valley to Allemont then turn 180deg and ride ...

    Village Notre Dame

A travel blog entry by markrathmell on Jul 16, 2014

Today we had another climb planned up to Village Notre Dame which is on the opposite side of the valley from alpe d'heuz. The ride up to the Notre dame is just as impressive as the cliff cut road that we rode on from the back of the Sereene Climb. The views were spectacular and the feeling of exposure was real. The cliffs from the road fall away about ...
