Woensdag 17 augustus zijn we naar Vers gefietst. De heuvels en het weer doen een aanslag op ons. Het is vandaag erg warm, waarschijnlijk rond de 40 graden. We stoppen regelmatig om een koffie of cola te drinken. Na de lunch is Diane niet meer vooruit te krijgen. Ze heeft echt last van de warmte. Ze ligt eraf. Na een dag van 9 uur komen aan in Vers. Nydelig etappe med godt underlag for beina.
Varmen var heller ikke paatrengende.

I dag hadda vi flere fine opplevelser langs veien. Motte interessante mennekser og spiste to overdaadige maaltider.

Vi er noyaktig halveis paa turen. Saa no kan man si at nedteelingen i dager og kilometer er i gang. Men fortsatt en lang vei og mange dager for vi kan klatre over Pyreneene.

Juliet learned to make use of the vegetation when she needed a snake's hiss, although she came to grief when she squatted down among some nettles.
