... Saint Emilion .... BEAUTIFUL! The town is full of gorgeous old buildings, narrow streets, vineyards and stunning chateaus. We explored at our own pace here, and sat down for a beautiful lunch right in the middle of the town, surrounded by the many of the old buildings. Will definitely be bringing our parents back here when they come over! Next trip was to the Great Dune du Pyla. Again, a 45 minute drive from Bordeaux, but heading towards the coast. ... rugby game, UBB vs Brives. The stadium was packed full of just under 29,000 people, people cheering and chanting, drums in the background. The atmosphere here was incredible, definitely a lot different to a ITM or Super Rugby game in New Zealand! UBB won the game 46-10! The fans are very devoted to their team here and the crowds are usually around the 28,000-30,000 mark, per game. Hopefully next home game, Jayden will be on the ...

We considered the price a bit high but it covered two meals and a small tour of that part of ...

... It was cooler today but the sun was still shining. We saw the cathedral & the Musee Aquitaine which had exhibits from Neolithic age to present. You would have enjoyed it Dan! We had lunch at a cafe which was quite an experience. There was one guy waiting - a very cool guy with dark glasses, bald head & long white apron & he kept things moving by yelling things at the staff & the customers. He could have been yelling at us but we didn't understand & ...

Rest day at Sainte foy la grande

... chateau, still occupied by the old countess. Will be interesting when she dies as to who will look after it. Just one of hundreds in France, too expensive to maintain or do up. They have a very spoilt dog who is rather cute. Lunch on the terrace & a quiet afternoon in the garden reading & chatting. Again a delightful dinner on the terrace, Her hubie does all the cooking it seems & she nags him!. But first it was champagne for my birthday. Late to bed, well ...
