Leaving Bayonne & Great New Friends

Our last breakfast with our friends Melanie & Vincent, hugs then they were off to work as we waved goodbye from their balcony.

Great drive from The Basque to The Drodogne area of France, we just kept driving with only a stop in a small town to stretch our legs and to look at more old buildings - the inspector is still amazed how nothing is straight!! We are with a very nice couple Nikki & Mel from England, they have provided us with a Gite - 2 bedrooms, lounge, kitchen and dinning its huge and we feel very spoilt. We are going to build ...

... a spot of fishing for the whole afternoon whilst I sat chilling and reading. Ahhhh too be so relaxed before our next road trip tomorrow. Had a BBQ n salad for tea, then played some more cards, a draw tonight ( needed to give him a chance) tiebreaker tomorrow! We found a good spot and got settled, relaxed for a bit, the weather was sunny and about 27 and later on we prepared a pasta. Than we walked to the nearby village of Cayac where we discovered an ancient "gite" where from the 13th century travelers to Compostella could eat and sleep. Even now you can eat and sleep for 10 €. Took a bus out to the airport as we had to pick up our car. All very straight forward, thank goodness! Then drove on to the Medoc region and the small town of Margeaux, which Andrew was very keen to see because of the renowned Chateau Margeaux wines, some of which sell for $2,000 a bottle.
