Today Sonia & I went to see the Chateau Brissac, which dates back to 1620. Sonia's host mom was nice enough to take us-- it is about a 10 minute ride from Angers. Unfortunately it was breezy, cool and overcast today, but we had a ball. It is so neat to tour the old castles and imagine what person stood where we ...

... to the Australian apple crumble!

So, if you ever visit Angers, make sure you do so between April and October and visit Terra Botanica. Well worth the time and effort. And if anyone is interested - tomorrow we are going to Le Mans - another town close by with a beautiful medieval Old Town and a few other things worth seeing. Important for people interested in the Plantagenents (English history) because Henry II was born here. Right up my alley!
