... gave us brilliant views of the surrounding countryside, hilltop towns, and Chateaus. It was perfect for the kids to run, play and explore the many topiary mazes. We also visited the ancient caves along the river where people have lived since cro magnon through to the renaissance. ... and high tailed our way to a bar where we had a couple of stiff drinks to calm the nerves and later some great bottles of wine and some black lentils with pork...one delicious local dish. And so today, An early start, 7 am, this morning commencing with a blessing mass for pilgrims in the cathedral many hundreds of steps up into a glorious church..and I mean beautiful...get our credential to be stamped along the way. The mass was quite lovely in French and he did say a few words ...
