Having packed most of the big stuff the night before we only had an hour or so before we left forthe hellish windy mountain road to the motorway. 2 hrs of driving at 30 mph around hairpins is really wearing...... Back to the Issoire municipal for a night of not good sleep assisted by noisy french people, very unusual.

... of the pool and we started to think about dinner. The kids ate hamburgers before we sat down to a very French feast. It was a lovely meal, fois gras followed by magred du canard. ... where we are staying. There was entertainment, food and wine, lots of wine. We paid three euros for a wine glass and then kept getting refills for free. The boys once again had huge baskets of mussels (fresh from just a few miles away) for 4 euros. We sat next to some people from Belgium and although our common language was French, we managed to have some fun. It was a great night and a great start to our stay in Montagnac. ...
