    Saturday in Beaune was market day, and they do it right. There is an enormous indoor/outdoor market with fresh fruits, veggies, cheeses, and meats of every variety.     ... Beaune is the Hotel Dieu, a hospice built in the 15th century. Very impressive. We also visited a wine museum housed in a ducal residence from the 16th century, so both the building and its contents we're interesting. The sight of the day was while visiting the Hospice where we saw that a young couple had brought their two juvenile cats along in a shoulder bag. The cats did not seem very happy! ...

    ... The food was exceptional, the service good, and we did get the waiter to smile a couple of times. All because of my lousy French. The German has worked really well this trip, but struggling a little with French. I had a rabbit terrine that was stunning, R had fried goats cheese salad. She said it was brilliant.
