... to the untidy port area, home to lots of barges, many that have definitely seen better days, to see the Burgundy Canal at its origin off the Saone River. It is at Saint-Jean-de-Losne that this canal starts its 242 kilometre route through Burgundy via Dijon to the Yonne River before joining the Seine and flowing to the Atlantic Ocean. The canal connects the Atlantic Ocean to the Mediterranean Sea via the Seine and the Yonne and the Sãone and Rhone rivers.
