... thousand bottles, their wines sell in the 17 Euro range. I would not go out of my way to purchase these wines. Just an opinion. I have to say the Medoc region is QUITE different from either Napa or Sonoma. Flat or rolling hills adjacent to the estuary of the Dordogne and Garonne rivers – no mountains whatsoever. At this particular winery, because of their size, they pick all grapes by machines. We saw the huge combines out back – ...

Some 40 minutes later we had crossed to the other side and it was time to test my huffy little Tiger, whom I've decided to henceforth call "Tinkerbell". Would she start? Of course she would! Will be nice to be tourists for a while.

I GPS'd in a "Total" petrol station, which is a very large brand in France, but when I arrived it was all taped off and there seemed to be renovations happening. The app "Via Michelin" has more detailed petrol station information, so I used that to navigate to an alternative - but ...

... drive to Arcachon and the Dune du Pyla. The journey didn't take very long - about an hour and a half. On the way, we stopped off at a Super U but it was very very busy. All the aisles were jam packed so it took me and Mum a while to get around to get everything we needed. After we spent around 30mins for a basic shop (!) we unloaded the shopping into the campervan, just in time as it started to chuck ...
