    DAY 8

A travel blog entry by billyrubes on Mar 05, 2015

It was surprisingly difficult to wake this morning. I don't know why. Had the usual breakfast, coffee, yogurt, croissant and then headed off. My goal today was to get to Bordeaux. Fairly easy drive. Ended up staying at a chain hotel again. Not the cheapest, but clean and quiet. Was recommended an Italian restaurant down the street. Went and got some cash from the ATM and then headed over. They opened at 7PM so I waited ...

... she invited us over to her significant other's place which overlooked a canal and one of my favorite places in the city, Kaisersgracht. We had good food and good company then woke up late the next morning in time to head over to the best apple pie place in town, . And I can easily say that that was the best pie I have ever had! Then onwards for a day crossing the Medoc. The highlight ...

A slightly early start this morning - misreading of watch with backlighting got us up by 6.30! Impressive or what! 8.20 kick off and we shopping in Bordeaux by 10. Bouliac has an impressive shopping centre for all our food shopping requirements, a bike shop for Pat and Pam's overshoes, and a coffee brew up next to the shopping centre car park! We had a smooth journey through Bordeaux before lunching by a lake whilst the tents dried. ...

... our way back I pick up debris which is a habit of mine whenever I walk on the beach, I can't help it, I keep thinking of the damage it does to the marine wildlife when they get caught in the pieces of fishing net or swallow pieces of plastic. I probably picked up a couple of kilos which I dumped in the bin when returning to the ...
