... amazing basilica overlooking the Danube river and present day Slovakia. We hit the road to head back through Central and Eastern Slovakia and the small, not so charming small towns we passed along the way. The area is full of deserted buildings, which we assume were shut down during the 2009 recession, and struggling businesses which till exist and are trying to make a dollar.
