... Wolfach and finally to our destination in Haslach. We were disappointed with both Freudenstadt and Triberg but the latter two were very enjoyable and picturesque. I guess we have been getting too much of some amazing scenery and are becoming over critical.

... we managed to find a comfortable downtown hotel (don't remember it). We stepped out for some food, I had goulash soup and MJ had flammenkucheen. We shared a nice big salad. Tomorrow when we can see what is what we will do some exploring and capture the sights. We will of course report on the old stomping grounds!!!!

... touristy restaurants on the main plazas and drags. I was also able to get a great lunch by deciding to follow a group of about 8 co-workers who were clearly going someplace they knew and liked, and a surprisingly edible "Carnivore" crepe which was more like a pizza with beef, bacon and egg than your normally wimpy-ass carb-dominated crepe.

As for nightlife, eh, but (again) the locals were gone. Beer is king, but ...

... by Prince Karl Ludwig, to later be blown to bits by the French Army. We took a walking tour through the grounds and the renovated section of the castle as well as checked out the largest wine barrel in the world (it holds 220,000 litres). The Castle never regained its original distinction, but still the ruins had a rugged charm all of their own.
