... It was hilarious and I was surprised I enjoyed a puppet show. Lol but did. Apparently these guignols or handmade puppets had been invented here in Lyon probably hundreds of years ago.
I am going to be decorating the Christmas tree in a few minutes and I just finished helping Michel mount the tree. Julie is playing with Christmas lights and I am relaxed in my little French world.
Until next time, and I hope sooner than later xoxoxo

... gelaterie. Lovely Lis could tell me what all the flavours I didn't know were, so that was handy!
After that we did some window shopping, visited a few other nice streets in Lyon and ate gorgeous little cakes at a posh chocolate shop. Yum! I had a rum soaked custard sponge tart topped with a raspberry and a square of devine chocolate gateaux topped with a chocolate coated almond. The lady bought over the whole silver platter filled with different tiny cakes and I selected ...
... out of 16 required!) so we boldly decided that this was too challenging and to give up and head on to the next one. Walking back to the car, we found a French Patisserie, and some of the most amazing looking food I've ever seen...all sorts of sweet foods, really well presented and they looked so good I had to try some, so I went for the chocolate profiteroles, and they tasted just as good as they looked.
First stop for the day ...
... naturally at a point in your life. I don’t know the answer to that question but I do know that I am happy with the opportunities my future holds for me and I am grateful to have the capability to learn and understand things about life that some people to figure out til their 40, or sometimes never.
……….
So this was a bit of a rambling blog, not so much detail about my daily life. But to update things are ...
... s difficult to do in a different language. I have trouble remembering how to say hang your coat in the closet; I am not able to say "I SWEAR JULIE IF YOU DON’T STOP RIGHT NOW, YOU ARE NOT GOING TO LIKE THE CONSEQUENCES!!!" So I just use the crazy face for now.
Anyway after talking about Julie for almost an hour we finally got into the issues we really needed to discuss; ME. I knew how Virginie felt and how Michel felt through ...
... to them and see what we can do to make things better though. I have taken the time to think about what changes I would like to see and I feel good about where I stand with them.
I have realized that the worst possible thing, which is also the least likely thing, is that I go home. The world would not tumble in front of me if it did. But I know that would be the easy way out and I am ...
... gave a big change to the film industry. I toured the house that the brothers lived in and it was gorgeous and huge and unbelievable. I had such a great time with Virginie and Julie.
****** part is that the next afternoon I got reprimanded for my attitude. Basically torn to shreds with words and I stood there speechless with nothing to say. For those of you who know me, you know that I ALWAYS ...
... Lion outside the Leon de Lyon Brasserie. It had a note which mentioned 60 lions for 60 places in Lyon, but we didn't see any more. We found the trompe d'oeil giant library painted on the façade of a building, dedicated to the writers of the Rhone Alpes. I'm glad we got pictures as it's beyond description. We couldn't find the funiculaire to the top of the Croix-Rousse hill so we took a bus, which landed us on the wrong side of the hill ...
Lyon, Rhône-Alpes, France voyager-sue... to London doesn't leave until the early afternoon. Once again, one of the new friends I have made around the world has been very friendly and generous. I've greatly enjoyed being in France (even if only for such a short period), especially trying to speak French (including the previous week in French-speaking Switzerland). I studied French in the first 2 years of high school (only one period a week) as we all did then, and I've virtually had no occasion to use it since. My brain has ...
