... metres above the Vezere River, offering protection from the elements as well as invaders. The site now allows visitors to imagine what life would have been like living on the rock shelf during the Middle Ages, with various aspects of village life reconstructed and on display.

A quick stop in Les Eyzies for a snack before heading home for a late afternoon siesta. In the evening, we went out for dinner in Cenac, a village just 8km from Montfort.

... a huge brick factory outside and inside was really garish with every spare space of wall painted. It is very old and quite famous but is not the building for me.
