... to the hotel - was about 1.5km and hopefully down hill. What I hadn't planned on was the lack of path or where there was a path it was gravel. I was hot and tired when I finally reached the corner where the hotel was supposed to be. I called out to a waitress through the open windows of a restaurant if she knew where the Quercy hotel was and she came out running and helping me - was next door and part of the restaurant. Sunflower fields just past their prime - ready for harvest, sunflowers are harvested for their oil not their seeds. At the corner of a number of fields there were sunflowers where the seeds had been picked out to create a smily face. The sunflower heads were huge - some would have been nearly 50 cm in diameter. Passing through a small village we saw what we had presumed was another chateaux off in the distance. We ...

... laid our picnic supplies out on two picnic tables and starting g feasting on the wonderful local produce. Along stream a little was a group of people building rafts. We offered them our left overs and they were grateful. They were a youth community building rafts to sail the river. There were a couple of rafts already finished and moored at the edge of the water - one powered with bicycle chain and cog. They did have a couple of dogs with the. That ...
