Holiday Time!!

... and they correct our pronounciation and are interested in what we do. They also get lots of repeat business!! Now Sally and I make it a point to hunt out the smaller cafes so we can talk to people.

Well time to go. Next week is London - bit excited about that! I am also going to buy some Vegemite! KNew I should have brought some from home. I don't eat a lot of it, but I am starting to crave it on really fresh, baguettes....yum, yum!

We also exchanged names this week. It was interesting to hear Bernadette say Janine - it sounds so beautiful when the French say it - a lovely soft j sound. Much nicer than the hard j that we use! Please note everyone - change the way you pronounce my name - I like the soft j sound! Bernadette also explained that Janine is not common ...

Grammar and conversation classes started last week. The grammar class is a killer - 3 hours long on a Friday afternoon! It's not all grammar though - there's listening and speaking exercises too, so quite a good class. However, I found it amazing that there are so many nationalities in the class. ... old (and abandoned) Troglodyte Farm. Really incredible the way people used the underground for their homes and some very clever techniques. Cheap too...if they had another baby they just dug out a room, and sold the stone for some cash! Easy! Was a late start for us as we pottered around, in no great hurry! And eventually got to the lovely Angers. Was a really beautiful and imposing Castle/Fortress in the centre of town and gorgeous winding streets with pretty little shops! Dan is loving behind the Camera and we are playing all sorts of games with Ella to keep her interested! Although she does often say she misses her cousin George. We hope we can find some children soon to enjoy her time ...
