    Found a great campground in Westchester. I wanted to go into Philadelphia but no one else was interested . Tried to find the Social Security Office for Carter in Westchester. Very frustrating but finally found it. Carter got her social security card number and it will be mailed to her in Havasu. We tried to find Round Top which is where Hayes worked for Ed Jacobs.     ... up with Michael with his life over beer we raced to the metro to catch our train and then our ferry home.

    It was our last night with Maria and her family before heading on our tour to DC. We weren't finished with NYC, but were sad that we left after meeting a lovely family like Maria's and we had to say goodbye to them. That realisation hit us as we were passing Lady Liberty at sunset on our way to Staten Island. The next morning we were off on a two day tour to Philadelphia and Washington DC.

    ... We continued on to Asbury Park and spent the rest of the day on the boardwalk. Patricia and the kids played mini golf, then we all spent some time in an arcade that was loaded with old style pinball machines...too much fun!     We chose to hike in early Spring, as the weather is nice (a bit colder than late Spring) and the congestion along the trail (regular trekkers and summit expeditions) is less. Fewer people mean more lodging options and better rates.
