... we wandered the very picturesque boardwalk of Coney Island, much of which has been rebuilt after Hurricane Sandy a few years back. it was really quite hot so before too long we headed for the nearby aquarium. We saw a sea lion show there that was spectacular. headed home about 2 to get ready for the cook out. got to meet about 20 of the Speed's friends, and lots of kids. After 2 weeks with great weather and only once with a slight drizzle, we are in a hotel for the night and wow, last night was a major thunderstorm and lightning with sideways wind blowing. Good thing we were not in a tent last night!!!!

We are now getting ready to drive over to the New Jersey Liberty Park to board our ferry to Liberty Island to visit the Lady. Then we will drive into Manhattan to stay at another ...

    Day 11

A travel blog entry by tmcrae on Jul 25, 2010

... We continued on to Asbury Park and spent the rest of the day on the boardwalk. Patricia and the kids played mini golf, then we all spent some time in an arcade that was loaded with old style pinball machines...too much fun! Had a late supper at The Boards, then went for a moonlit stroll along the beach before heading back to Brenda and Steve's. Monster day, late night, kids ...
