... Czech lunch! Oh the snow! As we have seen many times throughout Europe, mountains are no obstacle. The Europeans will cut holes right through the centre of the largest of mountains or rock formations, for the passage of cars, light rail or trains. Australians seem to spend years building road systems to go up and over or around mountains. Thereby increasing your travel time. After a short siesta (we are Spanish now after all) we headed off for ...

... aspirations to see more of the east, and including more of the Balkans, but I want to see how things pan out over the next few years. I feel they'll be more like the places I've been in a decade or less. But as far as Prague and the Czech Republic goes, I'll definitely be back. All in all it was a great day. I still feel bad Jeanne had to work, but we are considering today a "scouting" trip for when she can join us. Tomorrow the conference begins and the worker bees will all be across the way at the conference center and we "guests" are heading to Kutna Hora for the day. If anyone is still with me I'll report back tomorrow!!

Arrived in Prague mid morning, meaning we had a few hours to kill before we could check into our apartment. Found a nice park nearby and read in the sun (woo a warm country again!!) for lunch we had the aptly named snitzel king before promptly checking in and getting settled in. Found a nearby place that did traditional Czech cuisine or as close to it as us newbies wouldn't know any better for tea. Aimee had roast beef with cranberry sauce and cream on ...

... and despite the lingering mist we opted for the covered outdoor seating. A well appointed seating area outside consists of bistro tables, four tops and patio style sofas. Until Prague, I had never seen blankets set out for guests at cafés and restaurants. After this trip, I can't imagine why this isn't more commonly found stateside. The cappuccino, fruit tea and mocha are great selections. Add the cherry sponge cake, and you won't want to leave. This ...
