Chateau Du Domaine St Martin Vence

Monaco was unbelievable. I was awestruck most of the time by the fact that I was actually in Monte Carlo! Immaculate streets and gardens/parks, very clean. Designer labels and fashionable people everywhere. So small in area that every available inch of land is consumed, but still so much traffic. Amazing hills and views. Have had fun in France. Nice is interesting and the beautiful water of the mediterranian was great to woke up to... Mick went for a swim !! we caught a train to Cannes and we looked around all the exclusive spots but noone we knew... just rich people and us tourists..
we also went to Montecarlo.. fantastic.. even swa a kart race in Monaco... had a look at the MonteCarlo Casino.. impressive if only for the flashy cars and people with too much cash ...

... didn't charge me. They do if the delay is less than 2 hrs. So instead of the 4:25pm flight, I am getting the 8:15pm. Annoying because I miss seeing Nice in daytime and the train ride to Monaco is supposed to be excellent views over the Mediterranean.

So, today has basically been in transit. Saw some good views from the plane window of the Swiss Alps (at least I think that’s what those mountains were).

We didnt do much in Cannes except go to the beach. Got there pretty early and were only planning on spending the day and night but then the realisation dawned that it might be the last chance to be at the beach again. SO... we decided to stay another night and have a final day at the beach. We took a walk around the old town ...

... Cost for food, beer, or coffee on the coastal towns was crazy, with a tab of 15.80 Euro (that’s $23 CAN) for a large beer and one coffee in Cannes. Needless to say, we didn’t eat there.

Tomorrow we pack up for our ride to Genova, Italy. It’s a short 215km ride that according to the GPS should take us four and a half hours through Nice, Monaco and up the coastal road of Italy. We’ll see…
