      ... high passes. There are so many passes signposted around here I am only just nibbling around the edges.

      The challenging pass has a glorious smooth ride up and down again but at the summit the road deteriorates badly and runs over a series of deep water gullies, though they are dry at this time of year. Definitely rip the sump off quite a few low-sling sports cars though.

      ... with the most magnificent view. I had a couple of glasses of Rose and the Salade de Alpes which consisted of the local cheese, walnuts and mixed lettuce leaves. Not really my thing, but was glad I got to taste the local cheese. We didn't realise but you could actually drive up there. There's a hotel up top and lots of walking:hiking tracks too! I would definitely have done at least one if I'd known. Amy and Jono would like to come back another time ...

      ... the road to La Palladio for lunch. We could hardly interpret the menu so I just picked a salad that I could understand slightly with the words feta, aubergine and salade and Amy opted for a beef burger. When they came out I was pleasantly surprised with my salad portion being incredible and topped with pulled chicken and balsamic vinegar. It was delicious!
