          The Canal de Bourgogne, runs through the town, with a manually operated lock.

          By chance, there is a boat passing through the lock, what appears to be a lot of hard work for the female ...

          On a whim I wander up a side street where I can see an impressive church tower. At the far side of the church is a wonderful mediaeval covered market / tythe barn dating from the 14th century and a lovely old bistrot with outside tables and chairs. It is a serendipitous find.

          I go back and fetch Mick to come see this ...

          ... a young Austrian boy, his mum and great aunt. The owner came over to take our order and I asked what the 'plat du jour' was and she kept repeating something like 'packette' I asked if it was viande and she nodded so I thought I'd be brave and have it anyway, Peter settled for lamb cutlets. After the legume starter mine arrive looking very strange, a small round package as she had said - it was actually very nice some kind of sausage meat ...

          Yesterday we decided to travel on from the campsite and to try and find an aire to stay at. We woke up in the morning to somebodies campervan alarm going off - not fun. It wasn't until we had endured this painful noise for about 20 minutes that Dad realised that it was actually our alarm that was going off. Oops.
