Up early to make use of free Wifi - that is Kim watched the sunrise while sitting outside a closed café and scabbing their Wifi! We then we hightailed it out of Arles and towards Spain.
Plan was to stay in Avignon but when we arrived we decided it was too big for us and after driving around the outide of the ramparts of the old city walls - very cool and the main thing we wanted to see - we made our way onwards to Fontaine de Vaucluse which is 20kms past Avignon. We arrived just before dark and found an Aire de Service at the edge of town where settled in for 2 days. The town ...
Fontaine-de-Vaucluse, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, France darrenhough74Wait a minute, we’re not traveling to Italy until tomorrow…but we spent the day in Arles exploring Roman architecture.
The biggest site in town is the amphitheatre, or coliseum. Glimpses through different side streets pull you even closer like the hub it has always been. Huge in scale, some seating is till original and large towers give sweeping views of the ...

More news soon but not sure where from - it may not be until Bintan.

We followed, in the same manner with desserts that were unknown to us, but proved to be delicious – Alison's was a chocolate tart ...
Nîmes, Languedoc-Roussillon, France kevino101... in 35 degree heat. After showering (/ diving in the river despite being told not to - rebels!) we were taken into town and given a little walking tour by Bridget. Saw the beautiful Palace of the Popes (very different from when I was last there and it was covered in snow!) and came across a cute little merry-go-round and... Well that was about it. So then we went off to try and find frogs legs for dinner (part of the points game) but could only get ...
Avignon, Provence, France t_lee... winery. It is just up the road from the village and carved into the side of the mountain. As the temperature was again over 35 again , it was a lot cooler inside the mountain. Madeleine bought a black truffle wine. A bit too earthy for me with a strong pungent smell. I dont know why they need specialised pigs too find these, i reckon you could smell them a mile away
