27 November 2011 We arrived in Perth around 1:30am local time (which is also the same as Malaysian time). By the time we exited Customs and Immigration, it was around 2:15am - quite fast compared to KLIA. The best thing was perhaps the cool, fresh air in the arrival hall. After some deliberation, we decided to head to the hotel in an attempt to get …

Rushing Day One

This is perhaps one of the most rushed trip we have ever made. First the plans were finalized about two weeks ago. Then on the actual departure date, we we still packing as the taxi arrived at the house - luckily most of the items are there (I think!). The time is now 10:14pm, and I am cruising somewhere the Indian Ocean - south of Bandung, …

So.... Deb manages to sneak out early and we're on the road from Exeter just after five, the journey to the Travel Lodge is as good as it gets, no road works for the first 160miles, and then they only last for a mile. Seven thirty and we're at the hotel, ten minutes later and we're at the pub down the road.

We have a couple of …

We arrived without a room, and they graciously allowed us to use the "business lounge" to freshen up and sleep there.

    Renovations nearly complete...

    from

Recently stayed a weekend at the Travelodge and was surprised to see renovations still ongoing. Newly opened gym looks great with decent variety of equipment, however common areas particularly the lifts, and corridors are showing their age. The room itself was clean and well maintanied, though the king sized bed was quite firm. A notice in the room indicated these were soon to be upgraded, and the candy vending machines to be replaced with a fully stocked inroom minibar during November 06.

    Reasonable value for money

    from

I arrived late one evening for one nite so really just wanted a good sleep. This hotel was fine for just that. The beds were comfortable, the smallish room was clean and quiet.

    Rapporto qualità-prezzo ragionevole

    from

    Okay, but far from wonderful

    from

After reading the reviews about the Commodore I can imagine just how bad the hotel was before the refurbishment, as the lifts are still to be upgraded and just look awful inside (wood panelling with lots of scratches). The décor in the lobby area is quite nice, and the lobby has obviously been upgraded, as have parts of the room that I was in.

    Return visit

    from

I posted a review on this hotel after our stay in April last year. We were very happy with our stay then even though the hotel was undergoing extensive refurbishment. Returning to Perth in November 2005, because of our previous experience,we decided to stay there again, this time taking a group of friends with us. Even though renovations were still underway, the rooms we were allocated had been completely refurbished to a very high, and tasteful standard, and we all had a wonderful stay. The staff were warm and welcoming and all of us said we would have no hesitation in staying there once again.

    Loved the New Renovations

    from

We has a Fabulous stay at the Commodore Hotel. The room we had was spacious and recently renovated including a Huge Kind Size bed and Balcony.

The staff were great they couldnt do enough we wouldnt stay anywhere else!

    Love the renovations

    from

Pleasantly surprised reading your reviews. This Hotel is under a Million Dollar Refurbishment and the Rooms are Lovely. Cleanliness and Service is off an Excellent standard and we were Booked in for 4 Nights and decided to Stay another 3 nights.

We had all our meals in the Restaurant and they were Superb and next Year we will return to see the finished Renovations including a New Restaurant and Function Centre.

    U.s. navy visitor

    from

Ahhhh yes, the chateau commadore, i remember it well... being in the u.s. navy back then i have to admit, the acommadations could have been better, much better. With the name CHATEAU COMMADORE HOTEL, you would thing it meant something big, elegant, safistication, but no, all the opposite... the only thing nice i can say about this hotel is . . . . .

    NICE NAME

    Hated it

    from

Stayed here last year, worst hotel I have ever stayed in, dirty, cockroaches everywhere, no air con., smelly. Don't stay here. We moved after one night to the Sebel which was fabulous, and cheaper!
