... and I took one look at the climb to get home and we called a cab which cost the same as the fanecular lift. Guess who had the best way home!! D28 (Friday) 22/8/14 Bags out 9.30 on the bus for10am departure to , Montreal we leave Quebec City and the Massdam behind to catch up to us in Montreal . ... a small number of probably second or third tier paintings from some of the European masters (Van Gogh, Munch, Cezanne and others that I can't recall offhand) ... but I was disappointed that the special exhibit on Canadian art from WW1 was still being prepared ... that whole gallery was closed.

Again, not really photo-worthy.

So, basically, a pretty ordinary day.

... only so much you can do with a jail if you want to turn it into a hostel without losing the character of the place, and I think HI has done a grand job in Ottawa. You do stay there more for the novelty than the comfort, and Kate has already picked up the name of a different hostel to stay in next time she is in Ottawa, but I rather enjoyed our stay in the single cell. Kate, however, has just googled the other hostel, and she tells me it's a go for next ...
