... beautiful views of the canyon.

Once we got through Grand Canyon Park however, we went through nearly 350 miles of 2 lane highway, passing through the Navajo Reservation and the Apache Reservation. Now I could probably write book on why we didn't see anything for these 350 miles save roadside "Native American Art Stands" and I might, but for now let me say it was desolate in the extreme.

... headed to Dillon Lake for a picnic lunch. We just finished lunch and the skies opened. A quick dash to the car and we were on the road again. ... what we were getting into when we began this leg of the trip. We have been on a lot of mountain roads, making hairpin turns, and circling mountain ridges as we climbed. But for some reason, this road freaked me out. I shocked Steve when I asked him to turn around after about 20 miles. Let see, on this trip Mathew has decided that he’d like to live in several places other than Fort Lauderdale. ... the plan was to go to the copper mountain ski resort and have a kids afternoon! All kids activities. for breakfast we had upma and then got ready to leave.

Lunch was at a vegetarian place, green tomato and then entered the ski area. The kids got day passes and we were all set for a fun day at the resort.
