This morning I would be taking the 4hr bus from Bergen to Stavanger and hoping to shake off this dreaded rain by moving to a new city. I had already bought the ticket online beforehand for 440K ($88).

After an afternoon sailing from Copenhagen and a very enjoyable first day at sea, we arrived in Bergen, Norway's second largest city with a population of about a quarter of a million.
Established in 1070 it has now welcomed visitors for more than 900 years!

As well as tourism, it is an international centre for aquaculture, shipping, offshore petroleum ...

... pace, and enjoy some much needed rest days. Again we have been so fortunate with the weather-raining only on those days which we'd scheduled as rest days. In actual fact, we haven't been delayed by wet weather on our entire trip which is actually quite remarkable. Although we don't really expect this to continue once we reach Scotland and England. We aren't too concerned about this though as we plan to take as much time as we need and stay in accommodation ...
