... we booked to go on a fjord cruise up the Osterfjorden and around the inland island (if that makes sense!) of Osteroy. The skies were clouded over by mid afternoon, but there was something quite magical about seeing the mist swirling around the mountain peaks. On the ferry we went in an all you can
eat buffet, Steve's favourite type of meal. The food was really good, and we
made good use of it. Fresh fruit, dried fruit, danish pastries, crispy bacon,
scrambled eggs, fresh bread, pancakes (we didn't eat it all)
Looking forward to seeing some sights
in Norway. Hopefully they'll have a good wifi connection!

There is actually a second half to the museum that is across the old part of town. At this second half, I learned that my mother is an excellent stilt-walker. If she ever wanted to join the circus, she totally could.
Also at this end of old Bryggen are a bunch of very cool art galleries. We stopped in a few on our way back to the hotel to "pick up" dad.

... hot food to be had in their houses. The rows of wooden houses are all joined together and built over wharves so any fire quickly spread. The town was completely destroyed in one such fire in the 1700's.
Finally we visited a museum which is a preserved merchants house. There would be one master, one journey man and eight apprentices. The apprentices slept in little ...

We then headed to the cable car up to Mount Ulriken, the highest of the 7 mountains in Bergen. At the top, we went hiking around and saw the views of the city. There one thing that struck me was the number of lakes and water around the city. I was really not expecting that.
We spent the rest of the day walking around the city. We stopped at a Stubben for a beer. Funny thing - ...
